For nearly a decade, The Orvis Company has encouraged customers and the angling community to support Chattahoochee Riverkeeper's water quality programs, which protect the drinking water source of more than five million people and keep the south's best trout fishery clean and sustainable. From the Down the Hatch Fly Fishing Film Festival to the ongoing Quality Hooch campaign, Orvis has raised more than $150,000 to support CRK's BacteriAlert, Neighborhood Water Watch, Trash Free Chattahoochee, and remote water sensor (CASSI) programs. In recognition of Orvis' commitment to support CRK's work and their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion on the water (including through the Becca K. Powell All Girls Fish), we are honored to present them with this year's River Guardian Award.

The Newnan Paddlers have engaged hundreds of people in recreation on the Chattahoochee River and in waterways throughout the southeast in its five years of operation. The organization's outdoor opportunities have brought people of all backgrounds together to enjoy our natural places and cultivated new river protection enthusiasts. Members of the Newnan Paddlers have served as dedicated volunteers in CRK's Neighborhood Water Watch and Trash-Free Chattahoochee programs, helping to keep our waters clean of pollution. For these reasons, we are excited to present them with this year's River Steward Award.
